Denver to St. Louis

  • Distance: 850 miles
  • Time: 6:30am - 11pm (ugh.... soo... much... driving.)
  • Lovely, delicious breakfast thanks to Lois and Tom... everything from oatmeal with dried cherries to bacon and eggs... and lots of fruit besides. Such a treat!
  • And then we started driving again... wahooooo!
  • And we drove a lot...
  • And eventually, after dark, we dropped off Landon just outside of St. Louis and then headed on to our home for the night with Linda Goodwin (mother of Krystal Goodwin who rode with us out of Savannah with her husband on a tandem, just for our first day and has ridden on previous rides). She welcomed us into her home with open arms (and real, for-sure pillows!) despite the fact that it was already 11pm. And she still agreed to wake up with us at 5am tomorrow morning. There is just no end to the stream of amazing and generous people we have met on this journey... amazing. Thanks so much Linda!

Goodbye mountains!
Tom brought each of us flowers at the breakfast table this morning... and then we put them in the van and drove all day and so they didn't look quite as glorious as this morning, but they still made me very very cheery whenever I looked at them.
Flat.
Plains, Kansas.
