Segment 3: Ride Day 17.5 - We're in a... HOTEL!

Route: Moore, OK to Oklahoma City, OK (Courtyard Marriot - Downtown OKC)
Distance: 11.39 miles
Riding Time: 54 minutes
Average Speed: 12.5 mph (nice parade/cruising pace with the whole gang :)
Max: 21.1 mph
Weather: No problem. 85ish degrees perfect.

Yes indeed, you read it correctly. Today was our official rest day, but we gave up a whole hour of it to bike 11 miles from our wonderful host church in Moore to a hotel smack-dab in the middle of OKC. For the next two nights we are staying in a pretty awesome hotel, just a short walk from "Bricktown" - a re-worked industrial area of town that now consists of a pretty awesome pedestrian area with a canal walk running through it and great little restaurants, live music, ice cream (important), etc. Thanks to the local Fuller Center man, Clyde Caldwell, and the generosity of the hotel folks we were put up in rooms complete with wonderful beds, fluffy pillows and the softest white, clean, full-sized towels you could imagine. Hey, once you get used to drying off with a hand towel, its the little things that get really exciting.

However, it is awfully strange to all be separated up into groups of 3-4 in completely separate rooms on separate floors. After weeks of sleeping, eating, biking and living in close spaces, having a whole room all to myself (and only two other people) seems almost... well... lonely. But, I suppose this is a sacrifice I'm willing to make for a solid night's rest to get ready for our work day tomorrow. Here's to living simply... with a little luxury added for spice!

Oyeee!

We're in an elevator! With our bikes! And it's really fancy!
